In 1799, Ichabod Crane, an earnest but eccentric constable from New York, is sent to the town of Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of murders involving suspicious decapitations. While many locals believe that these murders are the work of the legendary Headless Horseman, Constable Crane – a man of science – refuses to believe such superstitions.
Ichabod’s faith is put to the test when the accumulating evidence does indeed indicate the existence of a Headless Horseman – the ghost of a Hessian soldier, raised from the grave to seek revenge for his murder many, many years before…
